Happy New Year! I hope you had a fantastic festive break and 2016 has started off with a bang. I’m just happy to have survived the post Christmas haze of excessive cheer and not being entirely sure what day of the week it was! Before I jump into another year filled with baby and kids gift finds and fun flashback gift memories, I thought I’d share my most popular Pins of 2015.
I love Pinterest however it’s a platform which I have yet to fully embrace. Perhaps it’s the fear of falling down the rabbit hole of beautiful products, DIY hacks, party inspiration, LEGO storage ideas and stunning kids rooms that has stopped me. I can only imagine the hours and days I could spend drooling over all of that goodness!
Pinterest has been a great way to organise my gift ideas. Rather than a messy spreadsheet full of ideas, I can visually display my finds into separate boards for different age groups. Handy stuff indeed.
From the 800+ Pins on my page, here are the top 5 items that got people “repinning” and “saving” last year:
1. Lauren Hinkley bracelet
My most popular Pin is this Lauren Hinkley “Ice Sisters” bracelet. Handmade in Australia, this sterling silver bracelet is a beautiful (and affordable) gift for 4 – 10 year olds girls obsessed with Frozen.
2. Minecraft LEGO
Tweens obsessed with Minecraft go crazy over Minecraft LEGO.
3. ‘lil Fairy Door
My tornadoes have a ‘lil Fairy Door in their room. The fairies visit at night – only when they are asleep! Sometimes the fairies leave a trail of fairy dust, sometimes notes and sometimes (only if they are super good) small gifts. Only today Mr TT sat by the little door shouting “hello fairies!”. I’ve also found the door very handy for leaving excess artwork which Miss T churns out daily. Fairyland is in desperate need for artwork you know…
4. Bat Boys pillowcase
Great for superhero fans, this Bat Boys pillowcase is very cool (but not cheesy!).
5. Ruby Red Shoes
A beautiful book with gorgeous illustrations, Ruby Red Shoes is a lovely story that promotes kindness towards all living things. A perfect gift book for a 4 or 5 year old girl.
I might just take a leap this year and fall a little further down the Pinterest rabbit hole. If you want to join me, please follow along with Gift Grapevine on Pinterest!
