Sticky mosaic kits are one of my current go-to gifts for 4 to 7 year olds. Fun, affordable and mess-free, they are fantastic for colour and number recognition, fine motor skills development and encouraging creativity. There’s no cutting, glue, paint, glitter or need for a rocket science degree when it comes to these – simply stick foam stickers, sticky jewels or other colourful stickers onto design boards (matching to colours or numbers) to complete each design.
Kits vary in difficulty with simple designs for toddlers through to more intricate designs for tweens. The kits Miss T and Mr TT received as Christmas gifts have kept them happy and busy these school holidays, especially on hot summer days when staying indoors has been the only option. I’ve certainly appreciated the mess-free aspect of this craft activity!
Here are 7 of my favourite fun and affordable sticky mosaic kits for kids. You too can enjoy mess-free craft. Who would have thought?!
Using numbers to do art, this Djeco Mosaic Flowers kit involves finding the number related to the coloured mosaic and filling in the spots to create two beautiful pieces of art. Recommended for ages 7 and over, my Aunty gave this kit to Miss T at Christmas and she loved it.
Also from Djeco, this Mosaic Bird and Ladybird kit features two simpler designs, suitable for ages 4 and over.
Mr TT received this Alex Zoom Mosaic Vehicles kit for Christmas and has already completed 3 of the 5 designs. I couldn’t believe my toddler tornado sat still to finish a picture in one sitting! This kit is a great introduction to sticky mosaics and includes 5 printed boards with large mosaic stickers in different colours and shapes.
The Galt First Mosaic Pictures is another beginner kit, perfect for little hands.
Orb Factory do great sticky mosaic kits for kids aged 5 and over in dragon, butterfly and jungle designs.
