I love heading to each quarterly Perth Upmarket event and looking at all the beautiful original and handcrafted wares. There were over 150 stalls at yesterday’s event – Western Australia has some seriously talented artists, designers and craftsmen.
One of my favourite parts of Perth Upmarket is (of course) the Junior Upmarket section. There are lots of great baby and kids gift ideas all in one place so I thought I’d share with you some of my favourites from yesterday (plus I always like to fly the W.A. flag whenever I can!)…..
I love the prints and soft feel of these Pip’n’Pop organic baby pants. Available in sizes 0-3 month, 3-6 month, 6-12 month and size 1. The soft organic knit is also used for the divine cot quilts and baby blankets.
I wish dribble bibs like these from Bugsey Bee were around when my toddler tornadoes were babies. They are backed with bamboo towelling which I was told is antibacterial, hypo- allergenic, sustainable and eco-friendly and holds 3-4 more moisture then cotton. Lots of designs are available as well as larger sized feeding bibs. I also loved the teething rings which are made from 100% Organic Ash wood. They are easy for a bub to hold and provide a smooth hard surface for chewing on which won’t split or splinter.
Games To Go have beautiful handmade wooden children’s games. With skill building, memory, dice and counting games, they are packaged small enough to take out and about – very handy! I also love their dancing ribbon wands (featured in a previous fairy gift ideas post), caterpillar game, bean bags, spy decoder ring set and mega bubble kit. So many great things to keep kids amused!
I have featured the Choodie organic beach robes before on the blog – and I will again because I am such a fan. Both Miss TT and Mr TT have one and in Miss TT’s own words “it is so soft and cosy”. I find them fantastic going to and from swimming lessons and at the beach. Available in sizes for boys and girls from 6 months right up to adults, there are 4 colour choices – dusty pink stripe, burnt orange stripe, classic denim stripe and the new angel blue.
Madison Grace Designs have a beautiful range of accessories for babies, kids and adults. I particularly love the kids fedora hats and bright selection of hair clips. What really stood out for me was this gorgeous gold, mint and pink beaded necklace.
The prints from Shopgirl in Print really caught my eye – they were clever, funny, bright, bold and would be a great addition to a kids, tween and teen room. I picked out just a few of my favourite prints and lay them out on the stall table. Visit the etsy shop to see the whole range.
A personalised placemat makes a fun, practical and personal gift. The placemats from Little Bellies Dinnerware are solid with a cork backing and there are lots of great designs to choose from. The robot, sweetheart, superstar and beep beep designs are my favourites. A new “Colour Me Happy” placemat has also been released which comes with a box of Crayola DryErase Washable Crayons. I also really liked this lovely Family Rules tea towel.
These frames from Taylor Made Frames are fantastic for a special occasion gift. You can use any words to create a thoughtful and personal gift – they are simply beautiful.
The next Perth Upmarket will be held on Sunday November 30 from 10am to 4pm at the University of Western Australia’s Winthrop Hall. If you are in Perth at the time then be sure to head along. It’s a fabulous day out plus a chance to pick up some quality handcrafted and original gifts.
