I’m a big fan of personalised and custom-made items as gifts. They make a unique option and there’s very little chance of someone rocking up to a party with the same gift as you.
Something personalised shows a lot of thought has gone into selecting the gift. It may look time consuming but it’s actually easy if you know where to look.
When Aussie online marketplace Not in Shops asked me to select my favourite items from their website and create a personalised gift guide, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Any readers of this blog will find it no surprise that choosing the perfect gift is a favourite pastime of mine!
Not in Shops features a wide variety of children’s clothing and accessories, toys and games, furniture, lighting and living products, artwork and prints, Christening gifts, baby and children’s gifts and thoughtful gifts for adults.
I also love to support local designers and makers and all of the 2000+ products on the site are from Australian small businesses. We have so many amazingly talented artisans here in Australia and are spoilt for choice.
From toys to children’s décor, a book and something special to leave out for Santa and the tooth fairy, here are my favourite personalised and custom-made gift picks from Not in Shops.
Made by a small maker situated in Victoria’s High Country who uses 100% solar power for all of their machinery, these gorgeous personalised puzzles are made using only ecologically friendly products.
Beautifully written and illustrated, every name creates a different story in this personalised children’s book ‘Lost My Name’. The book follows a child who loses their name – and heads off on a marvellous, magical adventure, to track down the missing letters. Along the way they meet lots of weird, wonderful and wise characters, who all help in the search. A unique gift for 2 – 6 year olds, this could also make a great Christening or newborn keepsake gift.
Memory games are a great first game for kids. I love these unique hand-stamped wooden memory games, especially as they come in a personalised bag.
There are a huge number of personalised Santa Sacks to choose from. This Special Delivery one is my favourite. It’s stamped “Santa Approved” after all!
This toy/storage crate is a stylish and practical gift that can be used for many years – big kids have toys too!
There’s a big selection of name posters and birth stat prints to choose from including this hipster moustache birth stat print and pretty vintage floral name poster. A perfect keepsake for a little one’s room.
Miss T is due to lose her first tooth soon and I’ve been wondering how and where to leave each tooth. These lightning bolt and floral tooth fairy bags and certificate might just take the hard work out of it for me. Now all I need to do is work out what the going rate is for a tooth these days!
This Minecrafting personalised placemat is solid with a cork backing and makes a practical gift for any Minecraft-mad fan. There’s lots of other personalised placemat designs to choose from too for mealtime fun.
