I’m wading into uncharted waters here. Buying gifts for teen boys is tough.
When placed in this situation before, I’ve gone straight to the source. The teen boy usually grunts something and I walk away none the wiser. I’ll then ask the Mum who also has no idea.
At this stage, I’ll go for a safe gift like a voucher. But what if you want to be a little more original? What do teen boys want? Let’s keep it clean people….
Whilst out shopping at my local supermarket recently I came across a Dad and his son. They rushed into the store to find a gift on their way to a 14th birthday party. I overheard the son say “C’mon Dad. Why can’t we just give him money in a card? That’s what everyone does.”
The Dad baulked at the idea. He settled for an EB Games voucher.
Is kids giving kids cash the done thing nowadays?
I just couldn’t bring myself to do this. Then again, I don’t want to give a dud gift that won’t be used.
With this in mind, here are some practical gift ideas for teen boys.
Let’s start with the obvious – vouchers. They’re easy. They’re practical. They’re impersonal. But they’re appreciated!
