Djeco Tap Tap set giveaway

I was given two Djeco Tap Tap Vehicle sets by Lucas Loves Cars – one to review and one to giveaway. This is not a paid review. All opinions in this post are my own and those of Miss T. Want to know what we thought? Read on!

I love giving gifts that encourage creativity and get kids thinking. It’s all about learning through play – and anything that keeps a kid happy and busy so Mum can enjoy a hot cup of tea is a winner in my book!

Miss T (age 5) was excited that she was going to review a tap tap set. “We have these at school Mummy!” she said as she opened the wooden storage box.

Tap tap sets are a popular activity in Miss T’s kindy and pre-primary classes. They are fantastic for enhancing fine motor skills and encourage kids to problem solve and use their imagination.

The Djeco Tap Tap Vehicle set comes with a small cork board, wooden hammer, wooden pieces, small nails and instruction cards. You mix and match the pieces (either following the instructions or designing your own creations) then secure them with nails on the cork board.

Miss T: “You get to look at the cards and see which one you can make. There are lots to choose from. I like the crazy truck with lots of colours and the fire truck the best.”

Tap Tap hammering

Miss T: “I like banging the hammer onto the nails. That’s my favourite bit.”

She is her father’s daughter (Handy Hubby has a renovation and construction business).

While Miss T was happily designing and hammering away, Mr TT (nearly 3) was hovering right beside her. I let him have a turn but under very close supervision! Although he loved it and was coordinated enough to place the small nails in the holes and hammer away, the set is not something I would let him have free reign over. I just don’t trust him with the small nails plus there’s a strong likelihood he’d bop his sister on the head with the hammer…

Because of the small pieces, this is an activity for ages 4 and up. The quality of all items in the set is excellent (not surprising as it comes from brand Djeco who do great stuff) and the vehicle images are super cute and appeal to both boys and girls.

Based on the popularity of these sets at Miss T’s school (plus how much Miss T loves playing with this set at home), the Djeco Tap Tap Vehicle set would make a creative, fun and practical gift idea – perfect for 4 and 5 year olds.
