2 year olds. And 3…2…1…exhale. They are hard work! Well at least my Mr TT is. He is a bundle of energy, stubbornness and gorgeousness all rolled into one. It’s exhausting just watching him.
If you are stuck with what to buy a 2 year old tornado this Christmas, here are some fun and practical gift ideas.
Nothing is sponsored here – these gifts are ones I love to give (and ones I would love to give!).
These gorgeous dancing ribbons from WA company Games to Go are perfect for younger ones as the ribbons aren’t too long so kids can’t trip over them. To top it off, a jingle bell adds a bit of extra sparkle. Colour varieties include Spring Fling and Rainbow.
A fantastic gift for 2 year olds, you can’t go wrong with Duplo. This All-in-One-Box-of-Fun contains 65 pieces for lots of creative fun for many years to come. Smaller Duplo sets are also available including starter sets, farm and zoo themes and more.
I’m not usually a fan of soft toys as gifts however the Nici Wonderland ‘Minilotta’ bath doll is an exception. Her head and body are made from special quick-drying foam material which means this doll can go into water for lots of bathtime fun. A bathing robe and bathing set accessories are also available.
Mr Potato Head is a classic toy! Mr TT (age 2) has great fun with his Mr Potato Head Silly Suitcase as it comes with lots of attachments – eyes, ears, noses, arms, hats, feet and more.
I love the egg cup and spoon sets from MSC. The Piggy Wiggy Set is pictured and a set is also available in cow characters. Made of durable plastic, these sets are BPA free and are easy to clean. The spoons are also easy to hold for little hands.
A personalised print like this Dinosaurs Alphabet Poster from A to Z makes a fantastic unique gift.
These personalised placemats from Little Bellies come in many different designs and are solid with a cork backing. I love the Superstar, Robotic, Beep Beep and Sweetheart designs.
*Note for pre-Christmas delivery, orders need to be placed by 5pm (WST) Monday December 8
The 3 wheel Mini Micro scooters are hugely popular with pre-schoolers. Handy Hubby and I gave Miss TT one for her 2nd birthday and nearly 3 years later, she still loves it. Available in a variety of colours, the scooter is low to the ground, easy to steer and importantly the wheels are non-marking (so it’s suitable for indoors and outdoors). A worthy investment.
Don’t forget a helmet! I love the funky range from Kiddimoto.
The Cotton On Trixibelle Tuelle Skirt is great for dress ups – available in a variety of colours in sizes 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8.
I am a big fan of Choodie organic beach robes. Both Miss TT and Mr TT have one and in Miss TT’s own words “it is so soft and cosy”! I find them fantastic going to and from swimming lessons. Available in a number of colours and sizes for boys and girls from 6 months right up to adults.
Have you entered my giveaway to win a Choodie yet? You’ve got until midnight Friday December 5 (WST) to enter. Details here!
The Micador Early Start range is designed for 2 – 4 year olds and feature great first crayons, paints, markers and pencils.
I love the products from Green Toys. Apart from the environmentally friendly aspect of their toys, they are so sturdy and perfect for rowdy toddlers to hurl around the place. This tea set features 17 pieces including a tea pot with lid, a sugar bowl with lid, a creamer, 4 tea cups, 4 saucers, and 4 teaspoons. A matching cookware and dining set is also available.
Don’t forget books!
“We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re going to catch a big one….” We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is one of Miss TT and Mr TT’s very favourite books. A perfect chant-aloud book with lovely illustrations.
Roadwork is for the lover of trucks and diggers. If it’s good enough to feature in an episode of Play School, it’s good enough for me.
This Dinosaur Is So Big! is such a fun magnet book – I love Nick Sharratt’s bright and bold illustrations. The book comes with 8 giant magnets which you can use to complete silly sentences such as “This dinosaur is so big it can eat a tree for breakfast”. A great gift book for the dinosaur lover!
Good Night, Me is a charming getting ready for sleep book for toddlers. I love the calming pastel colours used by illustrator Emma Quay.
