Taking into account gifts from family, friends and friendly strangers dressed up as the Easter Bunny at Bunnings, my tornadoes are exposed to a lot of chocolate each Easter. I have nothing against giving chocolate. I’m a bit of a chocoholic myself. Sometimes it’s just nice to think outside the box and give something different (but appreciated just as much).
I hope you enjoy my annual bumper selection of over 30 non-chocolate Easter gift ideas ranging from craft to clothes, books, toys, accessories and other goodies.
I’ve tried to keep gifts affordable and practical. It can be all too easy to overlook the true meaning and spirit of Easter so there’s no need to go overboard. You’ll also notice this gift guide is a stuffed toy free zone. No soft and fluffy plush bunnies in this bunch. I always hesitate giving stuffed toys as gifts – most kids are inundated with them. They may look cute but usually end up sitting on a shelf gathering dust. Too many stuffed toys is the reason I started this blog!
Strap yourselves in and enjoy the gift goodness…

BOOKS
Don’t forget books! Always a favourite gift of mine to give, you can’t go wrong with a book.
My favourite bunny book for the very young would have to be That’s Not My Bunny, a fantastic board book with touch and feel pages for stubby little fingers to explore. For older kids, Ruby Red Shoes has a beautiful story promoting kindness and I love the stunning illustrations.
There’s many more titles I could mention but for one of the best round-ups of children’s books for Easter, check out Megan from Children’s Books Daily and her Literary Easter Gifts post. So many wonderful books which would make perfect gifts to be enjoyed at Easter and well into the future.
Phew! That’s a lot of gift ideas for one blog post. Hopefully you will find something to tickle your Easter fancy. With just over two weeks to go until Easter, you’d better hop to it!
