If you’re looking for a beautiful and educational gift book for kids aged 4 and over, then Miss H (age 7) thinks she may have a winner for you.
This book review is of All Through the Year. Miss H writes:
“The author is Jane Godwin. Illustrator is Anna Walker. This book is about the seasons and months and it goes through the months one by one. I recommend this book for kids 4+ because they can learn about the months.”
And from me…..
All Through the Year follows a little girl and her family through each month of the year. What activities do they do each month? What do they love about each month? What are their family traditions?
The illustrations are beautiful and show the gradual changes in the weather. One of the many things I love about this book is that it follows the Australian seasons. The activities the little girl does each month make it relatable for Aussie kids. There’s no reference to “Fall” here.
In January, they play at the beach. February is the start of school. April is Easter and hunting for eggs. Footy in September. October is Royal Show time. Each month is totally relatable (except for July – I can only wish we had snowy mountains here in Perth!).
This book would make a wonderful gift. It’s going straight onto my Books for 4 – 6 year olds board on Pinterest.
