From gifts for new arrivals to toys and fashion, cute accessories and activities to keep little ones busy, here are 13 of my favourite baby and kids gift ideas spotted on the interwebs this past month.
When your little one asks “Mum, can I get earrings?” but you’re not quite ready to say yes – here’s the answer! These temporary tattoo earrings from Melbourne’s tiny and i are just too cute. Thanks to Babs for alerting me to these clever little beauties on her gorgeous Patchwork Cactus Instagram account.
I stumbled upon Melbourne’s Little Hearts Co recently and fell in love with their stunning selection of leotards for babies and kids, all designed and handmade locally (sizes from 00 to 5). This Peach Floral Luxe Frill leotard is just so pretty!
This Menagerie Kids Melamine Dinner Set from Mozi Australia would make a bright, fun and practical gift for a toddler.
Soft and full of friendly faces, this Wee Gallery soft book would make a beautiful baby gift and perfect first book. My tornadoes loved their soft books when they were young but their ones were never as stylish as this monochrome beauty!
I must admit, I was disappointed to find these new season fisherman jelly sandals from Seed Heritage are for baby girls and only go up to size 12-18 months. I want some for me!
This shiny melon coin purse however… this would make a cute gift for any age!
Toddlers aged one and over can learn about stacking and order with this fun Le Toy Van truck stacker. It’s a great size for small hands and includes 7 colourful wooden pieces ready to stack.
Handmade, organic and ethical, the new collections from Fremantle’s Pip’n’Pop are stunning. This GOTS Organic cotton Peachy Stars romper is one of my favourites and available in three styles – peasant style, short sleeve or flutter sleeve style (pictured).
Funny Little Things’ crayons come in a range of fun shapes and sizes to inspire imagination and play. This Sydney small business creates natural crayons from scratch and has a fabulous selection of characters, shapes and letters in lots of different colours. Choose your favourite set and pop them in a personalised crayon bag to create a unique and fun gift.
The Chalk & Talk chalkboard travel book lets kids draw and colour to their hearts content. Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth when they’re done and start again. Lightweight, portable and easy to roll up, it’s a handy gift for out and about.
As a stationery nut and avid list writer, I love a cute set of notebooks like these sweet Hooray ones from Little Paper Lane. I hope to one day visit this store and bask in all of its gift goodness!
A pink unicorn mirror! Melbourne’s Nest Accessories has a fantastic range of mirrors including ones for lovers of superheroes, fruit, robots, space and more. The unicorn is also available in gold and silver if pink isn’t your thing.
And that’s a wrap for my monthly baby and kids gift ideas for 2016. But don’t despair – start preparing yourselves for a barrage of gift guides next month, just in time for Christmas.
Until then, happy gift hunting!
