Our house has amassed an impressive number of toy cars ever since Mr TT became obsessed with anything that goes fast. Matchbox Cars, Hot Wheels, monster trucks, Lightning McQueen and his friends – they all hurt when I tread on them. You’re also guaranteed to find at least one car in every handbag and kiddie backpack we own. Plus I’m certain there’s a few in the black hole at our house where many toys go to “hide”.
I love seeing my tornadoes engage in pretend play. Our activity road rug gets a good workout as our collection of little cars race, crash and park around it’s streets.
From affordable activity rugs to stylish pieces to decorate a room, here are 8 of my favourite activity rugs for kids.
Stunning OYOY Adventure Rug.
It’s not technically a rug but this Babee and Me Let’s Play Hand Printed Playmat (Black on White) is too beautiful not to include. It’s also locally made in Northern NSW.
IKEA LILLABO low pile, green rug – a fun and affordable activity rug.
Another affordable option from IKEA is the LEKPLATS low pile, multicolour rug.
Le Toy Van Airport Playmat. Aeroplanes need somewhere to land too!
The Le Toy Van First Town Playmat has every thing a town needs. Just add vehicles.
The two Le Toy Van playmats pictured above aren’t rugs however they do roll up and are made of a soft flat polyester fabric with a non-slip latex backing. Too cool not to include in this list!
This BugRugs Car Track Kids Rug in green has lots of roads for cars to zoom around on.
This one is 3D! The Interactive Traffic Play Rug (in green or blue) comes complete with soccer field, school and a big car park.
Do you have an activity mat?
Are your kids crazy about vehicles and going fast like my toddler tornado?!
