We all have childhood memories of gifts we were given. Some gifts were coveted while others made us cringe. I love to hear stories of childhood gifts and who better to ask than my favourite bloggers?
Fellow Perth blogger Lisa is The Notorious MUM. A cheeky nod to rap’s The Notorious B.I.G. is what first caught my attention. Then I started reading her posts and have continued to read them ever since.
I admire Lisa’s brutal honesty about life in the parenting trenches. Her blog is about her life, work, kids and floor-cleaning obsession, all of which are bundled together into one happy, chaotic, unenviable muddle. Her way with words often make me laugh-spit my wine and re-read things to check if she actually wrote what I thought I read.
There’s no toeing the line or glossing over details. Lisa’s not shy to drop the odd (ok – regular) F bomb but as she says “I may not be for you, and that’s cool”. Writing is Lisa’s therapy and I’m happy to be along for the ride, knowing that there’s someone else out there going through the fun times of parenting tornadoes.
There’s a lot of love here in Lisa’s gift memories for a favourite 1980s doll…
