I was given two items from the Plum Collections kids swimwear range to review. This is not a paid review. All opinions in this post are my own and those of my two tornadoes. Want to know what we thought? Read on!
My two tornadoes love the water. Whether it’s beach visits in the summer or weekly swimming lessons, they happily
dive belly flop right in. With two water babies, I soon learnt the perils of purchasing poor quality kids swimwear. Thanks to lessons at an indoor pool, it didn’t take long for the harsh chlorinated water to attack. Within a month I was throwing away sagging, see-through swimwear that fell apart.
When Australian owned family business Plum Collections asked me to review items from their kids swimwear range, I agreed on one provision – that I could test each item for a month’s worth of swimming lessons at our local chlorinated indoor pool. Each item was also subjected to being rolled up in a soggy towel after each lesson and, after a rinse with fresh water at home, being left on the washing line to dry for a few days (I forgot to bring them in a couple of times – don’t try and tell me I’m the only one who forgets washing on the line?!). As a result, I’d like to think these items went through a rather accurate and rigorous testing process.
Mr TT has been sporting the Sailor Boy short sleeve rash vest. “Look at my new top!” he said proudly to his swimming teacher. It received the tick of approval with a “Hey buddy, that’s really cool!” reply. I love the nautical design and navy colour as it easily suits a number of his existing board shorts.
Miss T loves her Floral frill one piece swimsuit, especially the coral coloured frill which she describes as “soooooo cute, Mummy!” I am particularly impressed with the cross back adjustable straps on this swimsuit as it’s something she can grow with.
Both items are chlorine resistant and offer UPF 50+ protection – one of my must-have requirements considering our harsh Australian climate.
I’m pleased to report that after a month of tough testing by the tornadoes and mild swimwear care negligence on my part, both items are in the same excellent condition as the day I received them with no stretching, sagging or thinning of material.
